Awareness for the Rebellious:
My solo exhibition, "Awareness for the Rebellious," in Nov 2024, was a deeply personal showcase of my journey through overcoming depression. Through my art, I wanted to share my experiences and inspire others to believe in themselves, even during difficult times. While I’m not a psychologist or trained healer, I hoped my work would resonate with those who might need a little encouragement.
The event also served a greater purpose: raising funds for the Black Dog Institute, an amazing organisation dedicated to mental health research and awareness. All the artwork on display was available for purchase, and I’m so grateful to everyone who attended, supported the cause, and connected with my work.
The exhibition was made possible by the Yarra City Council through their Small Arts Annual Grant Program. Alongside showcasing my new artwork, the gallery also hosted wellness and creative workshops, as well as a live podcast featuring some incredible voices. The workshops were designed to provide the community with real-life tools to help them navigate their struggles.
I’m incredibly grateful for every single person who came along to support not only me but also a truly meaningful cause. A huge thank you to our sponsors, Sixty Smith Bar and Jetty Road Brewery, and to everyone who generously donated.
